Runic Antler Athame with Oak Blade

This item is an athame (ritual knife) crafted from a section of deer antler with a blade carved from oak. The blade measures just over 1 inch long and the athame as a whole measures about 5 inches long. Once the blade was attached, it was wrapped with a natural twine cordage. The handle was pyrographed (burned) with a runic spell to enhance the power of the athame and to call upon the user's ancestral gifts to help them along their spiritual path.

Deer are sacred to Cernunnos, who is a Celtic deity associated with hunting, forests and wildlife, and also to the Norse deity Freyr.

Oak is a King Tree is Celtic belief, associated with strength, protection and prosperity. It is also the sacred tree of the Norse god of thunder, Thor.
